Mat’s comments on owning and operating a Fibrenew:
As a guy who had a sales background, it’s a dream. The opportunity, it’s everywhere. You literally cannot be anywhere without seeing leather, plastic, and vinyl. Literally every person I talk to, every business I go into, there’s something in there that’s an opportunity for me to make a sale.

I was kind of a DIY guy at home, so I could do those little things, hang a new ceiling fan or change an outlet, those kinds of things. I could do little projects here and there around my house, but that was the extent of my restoration knowledge.

The first thing with Fibrenew is training, and it’s two weeks. It is extremely intensive. Learning everything, practicing, practicing, practicing, over and over and over. Once you got into it and you see the support staff, and I could pick up my phone and scroll through and just randomly call someone, and they’ll help.

I like the freedom that it gives me. I make my own schedule. If we want to go on vacation, I don’t have to fill out a form and ask for approvals or I just block it out on my schedule, and off I go. It’s a great opportunity to get in. It’s a fairly low barrier to entry.

We’ve grown double digits year over year. Not many companies can say that, especially what we just went through in the last two years. There’s no lack of opportunity. I mean, you can have as much or as little amount of work as you want. You just gotta go out there and get it.
