I consulted Denis after we damaged two seats on our motor coach when they were not turned properly to allow for the upper bunk to drop. He thoroughly examined the seats. At first, he said he could not do the repairs, because the material they put in RV's now is not true leather or vinyl. I was very disappointed. However, he later contacted me after he did some research and told me he could, indeed, fix the seats. He came out today and made the repairs, and he did a wonderful job. His ability to match colors is amazing. I am very pleased with his work which he guarantees. I was not only impressed with his work but also with his work ethic. He will not attempt to fix anything he is not absolutely confident that he can do satisfactorily. He is extremely professional, respectful, honest, and service-oriented. Denis offers outstanding service and professional knowledge. He repaired a reclining sofa that had a defective motor. The furniture store I purchased it from said it no longer had parts or serviced the product. It was only 3 years old. Denis was able to figure out the problem and get the parts and make the repair. He was a real life saver.
Denis restored the finish on a scuffed up recliner and then was entrusted to reupholster a new seat to a century old rocker. It was delivered today and I can't tell you how pleased we are to have it usable again!

our 20 year old mixed-matched leather furniture had been scratched by cats, "loved on" by children, and made several moves, and it showed... not in a good way. We had been looking at purchasing a new set for a few months, but the price for comparable quality was ridiculous, which got us looking for an alternative. I did some research, and found Fibrenew, and we contacted Denis (after seeing some of his work online). He responded within 24 hours, and came out to see if our pieces could be rescued, and dyed to match each other. I got a cut in a top-grain leather sofa (in red leather) and I was told about Fibrenew. I called and Mr. Schmider was so prompt in getting me a quote, which was reasonable....Also, he came very soon, and repaired the sofa back to original look. When I moved here to Lenoir 2 years ago from Oregon, I knew I would need a recliner, but decided to check on my father's and its condition. First time I sat in it, I realized part of the recliner 'opener' lever was broken. It wasn't long til most the the lever was broke off so I simply left it open as much as I could. My husband wanted to buy me a new one, but I wanted to save that $2K junk of change and use on something else for else. I found Fibrenew Catawba Valley's Denis Schmider and he was sure he could fix it. I sent pictures of all needed, he came and inspected the unit, and within a week found a part that would fit. He went above the call, by replacing with a metal unit, rather than a more flimsy hard plastic device. Denis, you are professional, creative, and magnificent. I would recommend you to anyone. Denis from Fibrenew was the consummate professional. He took great care in matching the color and texture on two different sets of furniture for us. Our sectional sofa was so worn and discolored, we considered discarding it, despite it being high quality piece. I had a leather sofa that had multiple small tears on the back. It was under warranty, and Fibrenew was sent out to do the repair. Denis was polite, professional, and exhibited great attention to detail. When completed, I could not even tell where the repair was done. It looks like new!

I was searching on the internet what to do about a leather couch that seats were really worn. Denis website popped up Fibrenew of Catawba valley so I gave him a call. Denis was contracted by Hickory Furniture Mart to assess & repair my brand new, yet defective, recliner in my sectional sofa. Denis knew exactly what to do, what to order, and repaired it perfectly. He is professional & courteous, and I would highly recommend him for any furniture/upholstery repair or cleaning.
My blue leather chair and ottoman had been a landing pad for our kittens several years ago. Most of the flat surfaces were scratched up - not through the leather to the pad, but all over the surface. Denis came to our house, helped get the chair down the stairs and out to his van, and took it to repair it. In short order he brought it back looking like new! The scratches were all filled, sanded down even, and the whole chair was redyed to match.
The chair looks fantastic and no longer has to be banished to a back room. It's front and center in the main living room now.

We had several large cracks on the back of a vinyl seat on our pontoon boat. Denis repaired them beautifully and you'd never know there had been a problem. He was very knowledgeable about the product and did a perfect job matching the color. I hope we won't have any more problems with our boat upholstery, but if we do - we'll be calling Denis.
