Sy did a great job! You can't even tell where the holes were. It brought the couch I love back to life and we will be able to use it for a few more years without having to replace it!

Here's my honest assessment of Fibrenew Layton.
My wife and I have leather sofas that are about 14 years old and heavily used. They were showing signs of their age and wear. We decided to get a quote to see how much it would cost us to refinish them vs. the cost of replacement. Replacing these sofas would have been around $6,000.00.
Sy came to our home and gave us a bid for about $1,,100.00,. with a one year warranty. My wife and I decided to refinish the sofa's hop[ng to extend their life several more years. Sy spent the better part of a day here sanding and refinishing the couches.
So here's my assessment: First, Sy is outstanding and has great customer service skills. His color match to the existing color is almost spot on. He even came back on a different date when I found a small spot that he missed. Our couches, without doubt, look better than they did before.
Even though his color match is spot, the texture of the seat has changed and does not match the rest of the couch. Some of the stitching is also more abrasive than it was before. This is not Sy's fault as sanding is required to refinish the couch and there's no way for Sy to match the texture. The other problem is now that the seats are refinished, it makes the older parts that were not refinished stick out a bit more.
Would I have made the same decision knowing the outcome? Maybe. In my case I believe it still makes more sense to refinish the couches than to replace them because I have three young kids that use the couches constantly. So it doesn't make sense for me to spend more money to have them worn out by my kids over the next few years.
If I didn't have kids and it were just me and my wife then I probably would have replaced them.
But without doubt I would recommend Sy and Fibrenew Layton to anyone who is considering refinishing their leather work.
Excellent work fixing a small tear in a tricky location on an otherwise perfectly fine car seat. Fair price, too. Would definitely use again!

The pads were almost non-existant and the webbing across the bottom was dead so when you sat you almost felt like you were about to fall through. These chairs have also seen many kids and had awful stains. Now they look brand new and they match my kitchen!

Sy got a nasty tar stain out of our car mats that we hadn't been able to get out of it previously. Any sort of repairs we need in the future we will definitely use them again. Really great to work with.

My son bought a coat in Turkey of very soft leather. He tore it in an L shape around the pocket. I decided to have it repaired but did not have high expectations because of the size and location of the tear. Fibrenew did an unbelievably amazing job. The repair was way beyond my expectations. He also picked up and delivered in a timely manner. I’m wrapping it as a Christmas surprise.

The work that Sy did to my leather seat and steering wheel absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was worried it would be beyond the point of 100% restoration, but it looks brand new now. He even touched up some worn out plastic trim pieces on the wheel as well. If I ever need more leather work done in the future Sy will be the first and only person I contact.
I have a 17 year old Toyota that ran perfectly fine except the front seats had two tears on the sides and the side bolsters were cracked. I tried many different leather conditioning products and none seem to work to restore the cracks. Instead of replacing the seats or car, I searched many different companies online and found Fibrenew Layton which had very good reviews (now I know why). I contacted Sy and he sent me a quote very quickly. We scheduled a time to get the repairs done. After he was finished, the tears and cracks were completely gone - the seats looked brand new! Sy was very professional throughout the process, explaining the steps of the procedure and why regular leather conditioners do not work well. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to him to help restore those weathered seats.
I had a leather couch refinished by Sy over about a year and a half ago now I think. Sy went the extra mile to be fair and to do a good job. The couch was quite worn in a couple of places. Sy even came back and redid one of the cushions that started to show wear after a few months. He is honest and does quality work. My couch still looks pretty darn good and it has had a lot of wear from my son and his teenage friends. It is a good quality couch so it ended up being well worth refinishing. I could have tried doing it myself but there is no way I would have been able to do it as well as Sy did.
So was very courteous and gr8 to work immediately. Very professional and his work was great. I highly recommend his services.

I had 4 nasty cuts in my seat from getting into my truck with my behive tool in my back pocket, and 3 rips where the stitching is that said "Lariet" is. Sy was able to repair all the damage, restore the seat integrity and match the color perfectly. Sy did such a great job that I told him I'd reccomend him to everyone. he showed up on time, did the job he said he would, cleaned up. gave me a better deal on cost than his competitor and now I have a great looking seat instead of an Eye sore.
Purchased a leather jacket in Rome 5 years ago. Something on a shelf in my closet dripped on it. After taking it to the cleaners, it looked terrible with streaks of color missing from the cleaning solution. I contacted other leather dying companies who told me they could not fix it. Sy came to my home, looked at the jacket and was confident he could add dye where needed. He brought it back yesterday and it looks amazing! You would never know there was a problem. I had a great experience with Fibrenew! They are quick and the job they did for me looks fantastic! We had a vinyl medical table top that had some worn out edges. I was trying to figure out if I would need to replace the whole table top or see if there would be a way to fix the vinyl. Sy came out and took a look at the table and said he could repair the vinyl itself. He came back two days later and fixed it. The table is several years old but he was able to match the color so well, that you really can't tell where he made the repairs. I would use them again and definitely recommend them!
Very impressed with Fibrenew! I'm the office manager at Kaysville Clinic and we had a vinyl medical table top that had worn out edges that either needed to fixed or the table top replaced. My bar stool had an ugly crack in the side of it. I would hide it between the other 2 bar stools so no one would notice. After Sy repaired it I asked my husband to identify the bar stool that had been cracked and then repaired; he chose the wrong one! That's how good the repair job was! My barstool had an ugly crack in the side of it. I would hide it between the other 2 barstools so no one would notice. After Sy repaired it I asked my husband to identify the barstool that had been cracked and then repaired; he chose the wrong one! That's how good the repair job was! This was unbelievable, I was skeptical at first. If you had told me someone could have fixed this, I would have thought, ya whatever... Fix this big rip and tear? Whatever! But what’s it going to look like once you’re done? Well it’s truly amazing. It looks so good, I didn’t know if I even dared to touch it, for it looked like art work and I might mess it up with a touch. It looks so dang good I just couldn’t believe it. When I was told it could be fixed I thought, ok will see. I thought, it’s going to be fixed but it’s not going to look all that good. It will look fixed, but it should look better than it does now. As soon as I got home I went out to look at it, to see how it looked. I was truly amazed at the repair, it looked so go. Then I noticed so many other places that were also fixed, that we hadn’t even talked about or looked at. They too looked so good. I wasn’t a believer at first, but now I have so much more that needs to be done. Thank you so much for your work, product, and service. Now I know: 1. This person with the talent 2.
