Have An Office (Chair) You Can Be Proud Of

Office Chair Restoration - Before and After

Do you have a leather office chair that’s worn, torn and tattered?  I, like many, consider myself lucky to have a cozy home office.   And as is typical of home offices,  it’s quite open and can be viewed from other main living areas.  So, I try to keep it clean and orderly.  But I also want the furnishings to look as nice as the rest of the house.  And then there are many who leave home to go to their office, be it one they own personally or where they work for someone else.  Either way, the truth of the matter is, if you sit at a desk full time, chances are your office chair is receiving more wear and tear than any other single piece of furniture on a daily basis.  And given the fact that most of us don’t clean our keyboards, telephones or desk tops like we should, it goes without saying that our office chairs are probably pretty nasty, as well.  So, for starters, take a little time to clean and condition your chair regularly, if you don’t already.  (Remembering that Fibrenew Upstate can professionally clean the leather, vinyl or upholstery fabric in your office.)  But just as important to note, worn, torn and tattered leather office chairs (or sofas) don’t necessarily have to be replaced.  Many times a leather restoration is a great economical option.  Why we can even replace completely worn leather chair arms with new leather, while restoring cracks and crevices in the leather seating area.  We then  finish the restoration process with a complete re-dye and protective top coat.  We’ll also remove and re-install new decorative nail tacks and lightly sand and re-stain any necessary wooden areas.  And, Voila!  You’ll have a ‘like new’ office chair, which can make for a much more pleasing and professional work environment.
