The common perception of oil based products is that they will help to preserve your dashboards and seats in your car. What a bunch of crap! Take it from the Pros.
These products actually accelerate the deterioration of plastic, vinyl and leather in cars. Here in south Florida especially because of the heat. They are nothing but silicone and that will suck the moisture out of anything and cause it to get brittle and eventually crack.
My personal recommendation is using a 2 step process to preserve and protect.
- Use non petroleum based cleaner.
- Use a non petroleum based conditioner.
This quick tip will help you preserve and protect the interior of the car.
